If somebody generates good features on cash flow, some other person that’s doing some other cash flow thing might come along and say, ‘Oh, well, this feature set actually fits my use case.’ We’re trying to promote reuse,” he said.

Databricks has distinguished itself from Snowflake, a notable incumbent in the space, by being specifically designed for the needs of AI/ML data teams. This allows transformer models to be trained in parallel, making much larger models viable, such as the generative pretrained transformers, the GPTs, that now power ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Microsoft’s newly revived Bing. Today, generative AI is a vibrant field with active research and diverse applications. The technology continues to evolve, with newer models like GPT-4, and DALL-E pushing the boundaries of what AI can generate.
